The first time you burn a candle, it's important to allow the wax to melt all the way to the edges of the jar or container. This is known as a “candle memory,” and it helps prevent the candle from tunneling or creating a small, deep well in the center as it burns.  During The First Burn, a candle should burn one hour for every 1" in diameter of the actual candle width. For example, a candle that is 2" across should burn for 2 hours. If a candle is not burned for long enough to allow the wax to liquefy or melt from edge to edge of the container, it will create a "memory ring".

Our candles burn 5 hours per ounce.  A small candle, 8 ounces will burn for approximately 40 hours. Our diffuser glass is hand blown from the UK and we offer refills of the oils, so you can continue using the same glass once it’s time for a refill.  They contain 6 ounces of liquid, and our reeds we use are Dacron Diffuser Reeds which offer the latest technology in fragrance diffusers, delivering improved performance compared to standard rattan/reed sticks.  Flip the reeds once a week for the best fragrance throw.  Our customers enjoy their diffusers for 6 months+.

Eau de Parfums (sprays) are formulated with a clean, alcohol fragrance base that absorbs quickly into the skin without leaving a sticky or heavy residue. Our Roll-On Parfum Oils are crafted with Fractioned Coconut Oil to moisturize the skin and ensure a lasting scent on the skin. Both are blended with the highest concentration of therapeutic grade fragrance oils for a scent that lasts all day and won't irritate the skin. Nontoxic and safe.

Don't throw your vessels away! We offer Candle Refill Kits and Diffuser Fragrance Refills. If you're local to the Atlanta Metro area, meet us at a local market, drop off your empty, clean vessel, and we can refill it for you! There are other ways to repurpose your beautiful vessel such as a vase on a shelf, barware, container for q-tips, makeup brushes, pens, etc.

At The First Burn, we use Coconut-Apricot Wax, which is gluten-free, toxin-free, paraben and phthalate-free, cruelty-free and soy-free. The entire blend utilizes only FDA-approved waxes. Our wicks are zinc-free and the natural cotton, flat braid and paper core properties offer enhanced rigidity and burning properties for natural waxes. Our vessels are made of handblown from the UK.  We offer refills for local customers so you can reuse your vessel multiple times with no waste of your current glass.
