About the Owner

Business Owner - The First Burn Candle Co.

With more time on my hands, I started researching how to make my own candles after using a refill kit that I purchased.  I love candles so much I couldn’t wait on the turn around time, so I purchased a refill kit and made my first official candle and realized how much I enjoy this process.  I became obsessed with finding high end luxury fragrances that could satisfy my taste, and provide a candle that I would want to purchase.  After making these candles and choosing my favorite fragrance oils and vessels, I realized that others also enjoy these candles.  It was so much fun to find the perfect scent for my customers, and watch their eyes light up when they found their favorite candle,  There really is a scent memory that evokes emotion and brings us back to another place and time.  It brings me great joy to know lighting up one of my candles can create a sense of calm, peace and happiness in my customer’s home.

I came up with the name of my company, The First Burn, after reading that the first burn of a candle is most important.  I had been burning candles for years and never knew this fact!  If a candle is not burned for long enough to allow the wax to liquefy or to melt from edge to edge of a container, it will create a “memory ring.”  Once a candle has a memory ring it will continue to tunnel for the life of a candle.

I'm so passionate about finding the perfect fragrance, wax, wick and vessel to create a magical experience for all of my customers!
